Airway and Facial Development
Infants and toddlers experience significant growth during the first 18 months of life. Growth of the facial complex is 60% complete by age 6 years. Much of this growth is driven by the way a child breathes, sleeps, and eats. If the muscles and soft tissues of the mouth are restricted or do not function properly, there will be a skeletal or dental imbalance. Our office will closely monitor your child’s oral facial development and will make recommendations based on our findings. Catching problems early or avoiding issues altogether will give your child the best start to optimal growth.
